Federer not a fan of a selfie?

Did you see Roger Federers reaction to a fan seeking a selfie at the French Open?  I’m guessing he doesn’t enjoy being accosted after running around on a hot court!

Fair play though, the selfie is one of the scourges of the modern age with every narcissistic kid with a smartphone wanting to grab one with anyone who has had a brush with stardom or television.

Whats wrong with having a nice straight up and down photo with your favourite sports star that is about you and someone you admire rather than a snap with the phone owner gurning at the camera at arms length whilst the ‘victim’ has to grin obligingly.

Well, I think Federer has started a worthwhile debate on the matter and I for one am right behind him on this matter.  In fact, I’d happily place a wager on how long it is before he starts to decline the selfie requests on a permanent basis.  I might check out www.dimeaction.com to see if they have any interest in taking one of my bets on it.

There are several well known musicians who now don’t do a selfie and it hasn’t harmed their career so far!
